We can host unforgettable weddings whether it’s an intimate celebration or a more traditional reception from 20 up to 100 guests, or larger groups within a Marquee.
Our Events Team can attend to every detail of your big day. We will appoint you a personal event designer to look after your wedding and oversee our team of staff to provide seamless service. Your event designer can plan any aspect of the day for you whether it’s flowers, limousines, stationary, wedding cake or entertainment.
The Ceremony
Musselburgh Racecourse is a beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony. From the warmest of welcomes, we’ll ensure your day is magical and every detail seen to.
Though we don’t hold a civil license, we can hold humanist and religious marriages in the racecourse grounds. You can choose your own venue within the Racecourse, with the most popular the pagoda in the Parade Ring.
Our wedding hire fee includes exclusive use of the racecourse grounds for your wedding. You and your guests will be the centre of attention, offering the rare service of a special, private event.
The Drinks Reception
Drinks after the Wedding Ceremony can be served on the Weighing Room Lawns (weather permitting), or within one of our suites, with views over the Forth or over the Racecourse grounds.
The Wedding Breakfast
For a wedding breakfast to remember, the award winning Heritage Portfolio Ltd, who provide hospitality services for a number of Scotland’s most prestigious venues, provide our fine dining catering. They have a deserved reputation for creativity, flair in presentation and service excellence, and source the freshest and most flavoursome ingredients from some of Scotland’s best producers.
Though you have a choice of venues within the racecourse, the most popular are the panoramic Epperston Suite with views out to the Forth, and the Lothian Suite and lawn.
Sample menus and wine lists are available that we are happy to tailor to your exact requirements, and we can provide all the essential accroutements from the best linen and beautiful crystal to ensure your dream wedding.

Musselburgh Racecourse is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the country and close to Edinburgh, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world.
If you have guests who are travelling or you would like to include other events as part of your wedding celebrations, we can advise you and make reservations on your behalf. Your guests may wish to include a round of Golf at the nearby world famous golf courses including the Open Championship Course at Muirfield, Archerfield, and the very picturesque North Berwick and Dunbar courses. Musselburgh itself has 2 quality 18 hole golf courses, and the famous 9 hole Old Course, the oldest playing course in the world. There are also many quality hotels in the local area, with additional facilities for your guests.
