The bet365 Scottish Cheltenham Trials Raceday

Saturday 31st January 2026

The build up to Cheltenham and The Grand National Festivals starts here. This fixture is the pinnacle of the jumps season at Musselburgh Racecourse and is assured to draw the UK's top trainers with more than £400,000 on offer.

Saturday features the bet365 Scottish Champion Handicap Chase and the Listed bet365 Scottish Triumph Hurdle Trial; we attract contenders for The Cheltenham and The Grand National Festivals. It's The BIGGEST Cheltenham Trials Weekend in UK!

Previously, we have seen runners go onto win at the big festivals including Frodon, Seeyouatmidnight, Mighty Thunder and Greanateen. We have also welcomed Paul Nicholls, Lucinda Russell, Fergal O'Brien and Sandy Thomson.

An excellent atmosphere, a great choice of places to eat and drink and the perfect way to see some of the country's top owners, trainers, jockeys and horses in action. A must for all Jumps Racing fans.

  • Free car parking is available at Musselburgh Racecourse.

  • We're only 6 miles from Edinburgh City Centre with direct transport links and a courtesy bus from Wallyford (connecting to Edinburgh) and NewCraighall (connecting to Galashiels) train stations.

In 1874 Pommery created the very first successfully marketed Brut Champagne. Today Thierry Gasco, Chef de Cave and Le Figaro’s ‘Man of the Year’ oversees the whole operation from vine, to press, to bottle, producing thousands of bottles a year, aged in an 18km network of underground cellars. Consistent top quality, together with the variety and innovation afforded by nine different crus, from the Brut Royal to the divine Cuvée Louise, is what sets Pommery apart from other Grandes Marques
