Travel by public transport

You can get to Scottish Racing - Musselburgh Racecourse by bus.

Linkfield Road The bus stop is 0.5 miles / 0.8 km from Scottish Racing - Musselburgh Racecourse.

From Edinburgh city centre:

East Coast Buses 106, 113, 124 & X24. Pass Musselburgh Racecourse and there is a stop on Linkfield Road.

Lothian Buses Services 26 & 44. Disembark at the stop by the Police Station in Musselburgh and it is then a short walk to the course.

You can get to Musselburgh Racecourse by train and courtesy bus. Our courtesy raceday bus operates from Wallyford Park and Ride by the train station and Newcraighall Station before and after racing. Times are available on our website

You can get a taxi with Toun Taxis by calling 0131 665 0077.

You can get a taxi with Eskside Taxis by calling 0131 665 1992.

You can get a taxi with Central Taxis by calling 0131 229 2468.

Wheelchair users can use the transfer service.

Parking

We have a car park. There are accessible parking spaces. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.

There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.

From the car park to the entrance, there is level access.There is a permanent ramp.

The path is sloped.

The route is 3000mm wide, or more.

Musselburgh Racecourse is located only 6 miles to the east of Edinburgh city centre and serviced by excellent public transport links. All access routes are well signposted. Musselburgh Racecourse is to the eastern side of Musselburgh and less than 1 mile from the A1 and less than 2 miles from the A720 Edinburgh City ByPass.

Free car and coach parking is available close to the racecourse and within an easy walk, or board our courtesy raceday bus which operates from Wallyford Park and Ride by the train station.

The Racecourse opens between 2 and 2.5 hours before the first race. If you have booked hospitality or a special package, we recommend arriving at the racecourse for the 'gates opening' time and at least 1 hour before the first race to allow sufficient time to enjoy your meal before the racing starts.

Traffic is generally very busy so please allow extra time for your journey.

Ladies Day and Scottish Sprint Cup Racedays

Separate parking arrangements are in place for Ladies Day and Scottish Sprint Cup.  Disabled parking is available in the car parks.  Shuttle buses and buggies will provide lifts to the main entrances (250m).  Millhill Road, directly outside the racecourse will be closed to traffic.  Please follow temporary signage on arrival.

Getting around inside

Ticket / information desk

Musselburgh is a one enclosure venue. There are raised viewing platforms next to the track near the finishing line. Access to parade ring via a flat tarmac path more than 5000mm wide. Access to ground level bars. Access to internal sections of the main stand and hospitality is via a lift.

Customer care support

On Racedays staff will be available throughout the meeting and 90 minutes after. On non raceday meetings staff are available Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.

Disabled Visitor Parking

Disabled car parking is available in our public car parks, with spaces reserved near the entrances. We have a free shuttle bus providing transport to the entrances, which are 500 metres away, as well as golf buggies which have special access for wheel chairs. If you have any special parking needs or any questions about parking facilities and access, please contact the racecourse on 0131 665 2859.

Ladies Day and Scottish Sprint Cup Racedays

Seperate parking arrangements are in place for Ladies Day and Scottish Sprint Cup. DIsabled parking is available in the car parks. Mobility Scooter

If you find the walk around the racecourse a bit too much we are please to be able to supply two mobilit scooters for free on racedays. This electirc buggy is easy to use and will help provide access to our lawn areas where our viewing platforms are located as well as bars, bookmakers and food outlets.
