Get ready for a thrilling day of racing and Bavarian revelry!
For one day only, Oktoberfest comes to Musselburgh Races, blending the excitement of seven competitive flat races, including the £20,000 Musselburgh Gold Cup, with the festive spirit of Germany’s most iconic celebration (yes, it officially starts in September!).
What to Expect:
*Seven Flat Races – Featuring competitive action on the track
*Oktoberfest Marquee – Traditional Bavarian vibes with limited seating (first come, first served)
*Live Oompah Band – Enjoy the Jager Maestros performing classic tunes and Oktoberfest favourites
*Delicious German Fare – Bratwurst, pretzels, and of course, beer served in steins
*Fun Competitions – Join in the stein holding challenge, keg rolling, and sing-alongs within the Oktoberfest marquee
*Fancy Dress Encouraged – Dust off your lederhosen (optional but fun!)
*After Racing Party – Keep the festivities going for an hour after the final race

- Free car parking is available at Musselburgh Racecourse.
- We're only 6 miles from Edinburgh City Centre with direct transport links and a courtesy bus from Wallyford (connecting to Edinburgh) and NewCraighall (connecting to Galashiels) train stations.
- All timings are provisional and may change. Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for any changes.
- Children 17 years and under are admitted FREE at Musselburgh Racecourse, except for New Years Day and Ladies Day, when accompanied by a paying adult. Four children are permitted per paying adult and/or concession. If this event sells out, there will be no child tickets available on the gate on the day.
