Heading up the team at Musselburgh Racecourse is Bill Farnsworth who has been General Manager for 16 years. Bill has served on the board of UK racing's governing body, the British Horseracing Authority and the Racecourse Media Group - an acknowledgement of the work carried out by Bill and the team in transforming Musselburgh into one of the country's leading race tracks.
Musselburgh Racecourse is managed by The Musselburgh Joint Racing Committee (MJRC) which was established in 1994 and is a partnership between the Lothian Racing Syndicate Limited (LRS) and East Lothian Council (ELC). The Committee is made up of four Council Representatives and three representatives from the LRS.
Musselburgh Racecourse sits on Musselburgh Common Good Land and East Lothian Council own all the facilities, for example the grandstands and stables. The MJRC pay a full commercial rent for use of the land and facilities to both the Common Good Fund and ELC.
