Gressington bids to go one better at Musselburgh after finishing runner-up on the same Ladies Day card twelve months ago.
Trained by Ed Bethell, the grey gelding faces six rivals in the £20,000 Champagne Pommery Brut Royal Gold Cup Handicap over seven-furlongs.
He was outpointed by Sam James aboard Media Shooter last year and this time James is riding Gressington, who is back up in trip after having all four runs this term at six-furlongs.
One of the market principals is likely to be Jim Goldie’s Yaaser, already a course and distance scorer this term, and stable companion Inanna, the winner of three races so far in 2025.
There are two other £20,000 races in the shape of the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes and the Saddle Up With Tiger Lily Boutique Selling Stakes.
In the former Paul Mulrennan-ridden Schrodinger’s Cat will be only the second runner at the East Lothian venue for fledging Wiltshire trainer Harry Charlton.
In the selling stakes Hollie Doyle has the second of her four mount on Archie Watson-trained Snake Charmer, who is equipped with cheek-pieces for the first time.
Protest Rally has a fine record at Musselburgh and he lines up in the Champagne Pommery Cuvee Louise Handicap.
Liam Baileys Middleham raider was beaten just over a length into fourth place over course and distance last Friday and his five previous visits have yielded three win and two seconds.
