Danny Tudhope is bidding for a third successive win in the £100,000 Virgin Bet Queen’s Cup at Musselburgh.

On a card that was abandoned twelve months ago, the Irvine-born pilot rides 2023 winner Adam Nicol-trained Wise Eagle having also won the 1m 6f contest aboard Enemy for Ian Williams in 2022.

Including a victory over hurdles, the Northumberland raider has won on five of his six visits to the East Lothian venue with his only reverse coming in 2021 when pipped into second by a short-head over course and distance.

His rivals this this time include likely favourite Wild Waves, ridden by four-time champion jockey Oisin Murphy and trained by in-form Andrew Balding.

And Align The Stars, third in Listed company already this Flat season at Nottingham, is partnered by Joe Fanning for Charlie Johnston, who also saddles La Pulga.

The card starts with Karl Burke double-handed with Castle Stuart and Our Mighty Mo in the Livescore Bet Best Odds Daily Royal Mile.

The Yorkshire trainer landed a similar race over course and distance around this time last year with Ice Max, who went on to score in Group 2 company at Glorious Goodwood.

Katie Scott-trained Gweedore is after his third win in the Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Silver Arrow Handicap.

The winner of the seven -furlong event in 2022 & 2023, he boasts five wins at the track and has only been out of the first three on two occasions.

There will be no hanging around in the £50,000 Virgin Bet Daily Price Boosts Scottish Sprint Cup and Jim Goldie’s American Affair, one of the market principals, could go close from his favourable high draw.
