Jim Goldie has already enjoyed a decent start to the Musselburgh Flat season and he struck again in the feature race with Woohoo.
Ridden by Lauren Young, the 8/1 chance saw off Sugar Hill Babe by half a length in the Hibernian Community Foundation Handicap.
“She was well drawn today and it’s nice to see her back as she was progressive last year she she won four times,” Goldie said. “She got a wee knock last season and we gave her plenty of time to recover.
“You never know if they are going to come back after an injury so it’s nice to see. She likes fast ground too so there should be plenty of options for her.”
As Fast As Wind was a smooth winner under top-weight in the Edinburgh Rugby Handicap for Rowan Scott, who had initiated a short-priced double when Hickory Lad landed the opening EBF Restricted Novice Stakes.
Tristan Davidson, who trains As Fast As Wind, said:
“It’s her first run for us on the Flat but she’s been doing well over hurdles. She could do with an extra two-furlongs and we will be running her over hurdles and on the Flat.”
