No appointment is necessary and racegoers and the general public (aged over 18) will be able to take advantage of the clinic to receive either a first or second dose of the vaccine (provided they received the first dose more than eight weeks ago).

The clinic will be open from 3pm to 9pm tomorrow and from noon to 5.30pm on 6 August. The general public can enter from Linkfield Road at the 2 furlong marker.

At Musselburgh’s last meeting, more than 40 jockeys, stable crew and racecourse staff used the facility to receive a vaccine.

Musselburgh Racecourse general manager, Bill Farnsworth, said: “We are delighted to play a small part in the vaccination programme and would urge anyone attending our race meetings – and our Musselburgh neighbours in the vicinity – who have not yet received their vaccination, to take up this important opportunity.”
